Operation and Maintenance procedure

  1. Operation & Maintenance (O&M) under PM Surya Ghar Scheme: The solar vendor who installs the plant will be responsible for cleaning of solar panels and all-inclusive Operation and Maintenance (O&M) for a period of 5 years. This includes rectification of any faults or issues at the vendor's own cost, with no additional financial burden on the consumer.
  2. For Consumers Not Opting PM Surya Ghar Scheme: It is normal standard that the solar vendor will maintain the plant for 5 years. Consumers must ensure that this maintenance clause is included in the agreement with the vendor.
  3. Guarantees and Warranties: All the guarantees / warranties have to be retained by consumers. Solar panels typically come with a 25-year warranty, while inverters have warranties ranging from 5 to 7 years.
  4. Post-Warranty Maintenance: After the warranty period, DISCOMs may assist consumers in maintaining the solar plants, with maintenance costs borne by the consumer.
